BROOKLYN JAMES AT THE GREEN FREE LIBRARY JUNE 26, 2012

Author and singer-songwriter Brooklyn James, a native of Northfork near Westfield, now living in Austin, Tex., will be holding a book signing at The Green Free Library, 134 Main St., Wellsboro on Tuesday, June 26 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Her newest release is Vigilare: Hellhound, the second installment in her Vigilare thriller trilogy, which began with Vigilare.

She also has written The Boots My Mother Gave Me, an Amazon Breakthrough Novel quarterfinalist, inspired by the true story of a young woman coming of age while overcoming an abusive childhood. The initial setting for the book is in northcentral Pennsylvania. The book also has been used a platform in the education and prevention of domestic violence with several fundraisers for organizations that support the cause, she said. She also has a music soundtrack that accompanies her novel.

She is currently working on the last novel in the Vigilare series, as well as another book and music soundtrack combination. She is active in the live music scene of Austin as part of an acoustic duo that performs weekly. All songs from the soundtracks are written/co-written and performed by the author.
