The Green Free Library will be closed December 31, 2012 and January 01, 2013. Please leave a message on the answering machine or renew your items on line via the card catalog button at the library site. Renewals are not accepted by e-mail. The book drop is open for the return of books and magazines only. Please return movies and audio books during normal hours.

CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS


The Green Free Library will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as Dec 26, 2012. The director and staff would like to wish all patrons a Merry Christmas.

The book drop is open for return of print materials. Please do not put audio or visual (movies, books on CD/AC/Mp3) in the book drop.

Items may be renewed online, or by leaving a message on the answering machine (570-724-4876).

THIS WEEK AT THE LIBRARY

Santa Claus is checking his list for all those people that have overdue books at the library! Don't get coal your stocking this year, return all over dues and items you have finished reading, watching or listening to, BEFORE they get lost in the holiday madness!!


The Green Free Library is open Monday-Thursday from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Friday & Saturday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Visitors please note that all parking is "on the street", except for one handicapped access parking spot behind the library that is shared with the Gmeiner. You must have the appropriate permits displayed to park in this spot.

MONDAY DECEMBER 17, 2012

There are no special events scheduled for today. There are lots of books available to check out if you still haven't come up with a special gift to make or bake. There is still time to donate to the 2012-2013 and/or pick an ornament off the tree and be a "Library Angel". Remember-all donations are tax-deductible!! Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. The library also accepts donations of gently used books (hard cover and paperbacks), except for encyclopedias, Reader's Digest condensed and outdated textbooks. Please no magazines or records either.




TUESDAY DECEMBER 18, 2012


The E-reader book club will meet at 6:30 PM to discuss Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. Feel free to bring snacks to share for the meeting.

The book store will be open from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Book bags are still available to purchase if you need a gift idea, and all money supports the library directly.

There will be no Story Time for the next few weeks. Please check back for the new schedule in 2013.




The adult Knitting Group will meet at 3:30 PM in The Gmeiner (the art center behind the library). Knitters of any level are encouraged to attend. Help will be available for those new to the craft.

The BOOK STORE will be open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Prices are amazing and there are many titles to choose from. Books will be re-stocked at the end of every session, so make it a habit to stop in regularly.

The E-reader book club will meet on December 18th at 6:30 PM to discuss Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy.There is still time to read this selection if you have free time during the holiday season, or just need a break! Contact us if you can provide snacks for either club meeting.

Story Time will begin at 10:15 AM in the childrens room of the library. This week the theme will be SANTA. There will be a special visitor (can you guess who?) so bring a camera and get ready to smile.

QUILT FOR RAFFLE AT THE GREEN FREE LIBRARY


This colorful and fun lap quilt for kids of any age is currently hanging in The Green Free Library at 134 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901. Now is your chance to purchase a raffle ticket (game run by the Friends) and with luck, you just might be the winner on March 02, 2013.

Tickets are currently available at the circulation desk during normal library hours (M-Th 10:00 AM-8:00 PM and F & Sat 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Buy one for $1.00 or six for $5.00.Please listen to the radio, or call the library during times of inclimate weather or holidays. The library will be closed between 11:15 AM and 5:00 PM on Tuesday Dec 11, 2012.

The BOOK STORE will be open from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Prices are amazing and there are many titles to choose from. Books will be re-stocked at the end of every session, so make it a habit to stop in regularly.


The First Thursday Writing Group will meet upstairs in the library from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Writers of any genre who are at least 17 years old are welcome to attend. Feel free to bring a sample of your work (up to 3 pages) to share with the group in a round-table like discussion. Copies may be made before the meeting, and are paid for by the Friends of the Green Free Library.
