The Green Free Library is open Monday-Thursday from
10:00 AM until
8:00 PM and Friday & Saturday from
10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Visitors please note that all parking is "on the street", except for one handicapped access parking spot behind the library that is shared with the Gmeiner. You must have the appropriate permits displayed to park in this spot.

There are no special events scheduled for today. Please make sure all books borrowed over the summer have been returned so they don't get lost in the back-to-school rush. Now is the time to get all fines paid so you can check out books for school projects as they are assigned.

School starts today in the Wellsboro Area School District. If your child doesn not have a library card yet, now is a great time to get him or her signed up. All students under the age of 17 years, must have a parent or guardian with a valid PA driver's license come in with them to apply for a card. Students over 17yrs must present a valid PA driver's license, State I.D., or
Civilian I.D. (obtained from the Tioga County Court House.
Library cards are not only required to check out books, they are necessary to use the library's computers for Internet access, Microsoft Word, and Power Point. Be prepared if your computer crashes. GET A LIBRARY CARD NOW
The
BOOK STORE will be open from
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Prices are amazing and there are many titles to choose from. Books will be re-stocked at the end of every session, so make it a habit to stop in regularly.
The theme for this month is "Cookin August". All cookbooks are BYGO Free!! Please support the library by helping us get rid of the excess donations left when the Friends discontinued hosting the annual book sale.
The pre-school program will begin in September. Please remember to pick-up any prizes left over from the Summer Reading Program.

This will coincide with the "Wellsboro Grower's Market", next door. One stop shopping, feed the stomach and the mind!
Stock up on reading material and movies for the long weekend. The shelves are full of new titles as well as old favorites.
Please remember the library closes promptly at
5:00 PM on Friday & Saturday. The Internet computers are programmed to automatically shut down at
4:50 to allow staff to complete closing procedures by 5:00.

The Green Free Library will be closed today for the Memorial Day weekend holiday!!
Enjoy spending time with family and friends before the snow flies. The book drop is open for book returns only. Please do not return audiobooks or movies in the book drop. There is a $5 per item fine if you do so. Any one needing to renew an item may do so online through their Evergreen account, or leave a message on the answering machine at 570-724-4876. Renewals are not available via E-mail.
