Do you love books? The Green Free Library is seeking volunteers to stock and take money in the bookstore during the hours the store is open, and to sort donated books that it receives for the store and future book sales. This is a great way to get first crack at some prime merchandise!

Visitors please note that all parking is "on the street", except for one handicapped access parking spot behind the library that is shared with the Gmeiner. The BOOK STORE will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Prices are amazing and there are many titles to choose from. Books will be re-stocked at the end of every session, so make it a habit to stop in regularly.

The theme for this month is " Christmas in July". Please support the library by helping us get rid of the excess donations left when the Friends discontinued hosting the annual book sale.

The Summer Reading Program continues! Today's program for PreK is Jazzy Tunes where kids will hear stories with a musical beat This program begins at 10:15 AM in the main room of the library. Please come early to sign in.



Kids K-6 will listen to some jazz songs and learn more about jazz during Jazz Time with Dr. Sheryl Monkelien from Mansfield University.This program begins at 10:15 AM at the Gmeiner (next to the library). Please come early to sign in.

The Friends of The Green Free Library will be hosting Miss Mazie’s Garden Party for Ladies on Saturday, Aug. 4, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center.The event is sponsored by the Friends of The Green Free Library, to create awareness of the library’s history.

Party-goers will be greeted by Miss Mary B. "Mazie" Robinson, who once owned and lived in the present library building. Lemonade and light refreshments will be served while harp music will be provided by Celia Finestone. Suggested attire is garden party dress (hat and gloves optional).

SILENT AUCTION CONTINUES

The Green Free Library in Wellsboro, PA, will be holding a Silent Auction at the library at 134 Main Street. Bidding has begun and will conclude at 4:59 PM on Saturday August 04, 2012. Winning bidders will be contacted on the following Monday. Payment in cash, or a check made out to The Green Free Library will be accepted. CHANGE IN BOOKSTORE HOURS

Starting this week, July 16-21, the library’s bookstore has new hours: Tuesdays, 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.; Thursdays, 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.; and Saturdays, noon to 3:00 P.M.

The bookstore is located in the back corner room of the library. This month’s sale theme is Christmas in July.All Christmas books, CDs and movies are buy one, get one free. Book bags also are available for sale at the store for $5 each.

OOPS! WRITERS GROUP MEETS TONIGHT!

Sorry everyone! I forgot to include the meeting of The First Thursday Writers Group in the events for this week. The meeting will be held tonight (Thursday July 5, 2012) upstairs at The Green Free Library. It will begin at 6:30 PM and writers of all genres are invited to attend, as long as they are at least 17 years old. Please bring up to 3 pages to share. Copies may be made before the meeting, and are paid for by The Friends of The Green Free Library.
