DELAYED OPENING

ALL WASD SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED TODAY! The Green Free Library is operating on a delayed schedule due to inclement weather. The plan at this time is to open at 12:00 PM and remain open until the normal Friday closing time of 5:00 PM. This does of course depend entirely upon Mother Nature's cooperation. NO STORY HOUR TODAY

At 5:49 AM (UGG!) I was notofied that WASD would not be having classes today due to the weather conditions in the area. This means there will be no Story Hour at The Green Free Library. At this time I do not know if and or at what time the library itself will open. Please check back, listen to the radio, or dial 570-724-4876 to verify. While writing this message I got a text from the director saying probably 12:00 PM at the earliest so please don't venture out too early.

TAX FORM UPDATE

It's no big surprise with the way the government has been acting that the FEDERAL TAX FORMS are not ready and in place in libraries and other pick-up locations including here at The Green Free Library. In fact, in a TFOP Alert dated January 06, 2010, Instructions for 1040-ALL and 1040A were just released for printing and distribution on that date. This means a few weeks (or more) before they will be available for pick-up. There are a few forms available, like 1040 and both instructions and forms for 1040EZ. If you don't want to wait, instructions and forms are available online at irs.gov. The library will not be printing any instructions at this time, due to the cost involved. Patrons however are welcome to access the Internet and print at a cost of 10¢ per page. With 179 pages in the 1040 instruction book alone, it might be better to be patient and wait till the government printed "free" forms are available to file for that big refund you are expecting.
