THIS WEEK AT THE LIBRARY

The Green Free Library is open Monday-Thursday from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Friday & Saturday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Visitors please note that all parking is "on the street", except for one handicapped access parking spot behind the library that is shared with the Gmeiner. You must have the appropriate permits displayed to park in this spot.

MONDAY

No special events are scheduled for Monday, March 18, 2012. This is the perfect time to stop in and check out books on planning a garden, or building a new deck to help enjoy the coming summer sunshine. The library has books on gardening in the traditional sense and organic for both vegetables and flowers. Herb gardens are also a tasty way to get some excercise and save money as well.

Speaking of excercise, Spring is a great time to start a new exercise program, or even a new diet. The back wall of the main room of the library holds many current titles, as well as golden oldies that always seem to come back in fashion.

TUESDAY

The BOOK STORE will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Prices are amazing and there are many titles to choose from. Books will be re-stocked at the end of every session, so make it a habit to stop in regularly.

The Book Club will meet at 6:30 PM in the reading area of the library. This week the book to be discussed is "The Leftovers", by Tom Perrotta. This book club is for adults who enjoy reading and discussing somewhat unusual picks.

WEDNESDAY

Story Time will begin at 10:15 AM in the Children's Room. This week the theme will be Kites and Wind!

The BOOK STORE will be open from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Adult knitting will meet in the library at 3:00 PM. Feel free to drop by and get some instructions, or just knit with some good company. Knitters of ll levels are welcome, and yes, talking is aloud in the library.

THURSDAY

The BOOK STORE will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Kids knitting will be held upstairs in the library beginning at 3:30 PM. Adult supervision is provided at all times, and knitters of any level are welcome. If you don't have your own needles, Wanda Short (facilitator) will provide beginner needles and yarn if you want to take a stab at it. Donations of yarn and knitting needles of any size are always appreciated, and will be put to good use.

FRIDAY

Friday is another quiet day with nothing extra planned for the week. Please remember that the library does close at 5:00 PM on Friday, as it has for several years. Make sure your children have a ride pick them up before, or at 5:00 PM as staff can not be responsible for leftover children.
