FRIENDS RAFFLE

The Friends of The Green Free Library will be sponsoring a raffle to help support The Green Free Library.
First Prize is a New American Girl Historical Doll, 1914 NYC-Rebecca Rubin.
Second Prize is a Gently used fold away doll/bed cabinet.
The drawing will take place on Saturday, July 31 at 3:00 PM ( Hint: this is during Miss Mazie's Tea Party)
Raffle tickets will be available during the BOOKSALE and during Miss Mazie's party. They are not available for purchase at the library since only Friends members may sell them (rules, you know). The cost will be $1.00 each, or SIX for $5.00!! Thank you for your support, and GOOD LUCK!

THIS WEEK AT THE GREEN FREE LIBRARY
Special activities this week include:

Story Hour will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:15 A.M. It lasts about 45 minutes, and there are 2 groups. Infants to 3 years old meet in the Children's Room with Kathy to enjoy songs, stories and fun. Pre-schoolers between 3 and 5 years of age meet in the main room in the magazine area with Beve where they will hear stories, do crafts and get a head start on learning to read!
Knitting Club for Adults will meet upstairs in the library on Wednesday afternoon. Plan to begin about 3:00 P.M. and finish up at about 4:00 P.M. You do not need to know how to knit to join this club, instruction and help from Wanda Short, and other club member's is part of the fun. Even if you do know how to knit, come on in and show us your stuff!
Knitting Club for KIDS will meet upstairs in the library on Thursday afternoon between 3:30 P.M. and 4:30 P.M. If you are looking for something to do after school to keep in out of the cold while you wait for your parents. Stop by and give knitting a try. Needles are provided for any beginners who don't have a pair, or aren't sure they're ready to buy their own, and instruction in the process is available no matter what level knitter you are.

MEET REBECCA AT THE GREEN FREE LIBRARY!

The Green Free Library is proud to announce the arrival of the newest American Girl-REBECCA!
Six new American Girl books have been added that feature Rebecca Rubin, a lively young Jewish lady growing up in New York City in 1914. The books are written by Jacqueline Dembar Greene, and illustrated by Robert Hunt. It looks like the publishers are trying something a little different this time. The titles are:
1) Meet Rebecca
2) Rebecca and Ana
3) Candlelight for Rebecca
4) Rebecca and the Movies
5) Rebecca to the Rescue
6) Changes for Rebecca
The library also has the complete series of American Girl fiction books featuring Kaya (1764), Felicity (1774), Josefina (1824), Kirsten (1854), Addy (1864), Samantha (1904), Kit (1934), Molly (1944), and Julie (1974). Also in the collection are several of the American Girl mysteries, a couple of the non-fiction titles, and the magazine entitled, American Girl.

The Green Free Library has recently added several new mystery books to its American Girl book collection. These are new and different titles than the American Girl History Mysteries. Each of the original American Girl characters including Felicity, Molly, Samantha, and Julie will lead you, the reader on a daring, mysterious adventure set within the era that each lives.
The library hopes to continue adding to this collection to include titles about the other American Girls as well. (Kaya, Josefina, Kirsten and Addy)
The library already owns the core collection of American Girl books, plus several of the History Mysteries, and the monthly magazine, as well as:
