VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Do you love books? The Green Free Library is seeking volunteers to stock and take money in the bookstore during the hours the store is open, and to sort donated books that it receives for the store and future book sales. If interested in volunteering, call the library at 570-724-4876 during business hours, or E-mail greenlib5@epix.net with your name and contact information. This is a great way to get first crack at some prime merchandise!

THIS WEEK AT THE LIBRARY

The Green Free Library is open Monday-Thursday from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Friday & Saturday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Visitors please note that all parking is "on the street", except for one handicapped access parking spot behind the library that is shared with the Gmeiner. You must have the appropriate permits displayed to park in this spot.

MONDAY JULY 30, 2012

There are no special events scheduled for today, but there is still time to come in and bid on one or more of the books available in the Silent Auction. The library is open from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM today.

TUESDAY JULY 31, 2012

The BOOK STORE will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Prices are amazing and there are many titles to choose from. Books will be re-stocked at the end of every session, so make it a habit to stop in regularly.

The theme for this month is " Christmas in July". Please support the library by helping us get rid of the excess donations left when the Friends discontinued hosting the annual book sale.




WEDNESDAY AUGUST 01, 2012

The Summer Reading Program continues! Today's program for PreK is Jazzy Tunes where kids will hear stories with a musical beat This program begins at 10:15 AM in the main room of the library. Please come early to sign in.



Kids K-6 will listen to some jazz songs and learn more about jazz during Jazz Time with Dr. Sheryl Monkelien from Mansfield University.This program begins at 10:15 AM at the Gmeiner (next to the library). Please come early to sign in.

The BOOK STORE will be open from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
This will coincide with the "Wellsboro Grower's Market", next door. One stop shopping, feed the stomach and the mind!

Please remember the library closes promptly at 5:00 PM on Friday & Saturday. The Internet computers are programmed to automatically shut down at 4:50 to allow staff to complete closing procedures by 5:00.


SATURDAY AUGUST 4, 2012

The library will be open from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Visitors are welcome, and Wireless is available, along with Guest Passes for public Internet access with a valid photo ID. The Internet computers are programmed to automatically shut down at 4:50 to allow staff to complete closing procedures by 5:00.

The Book Store will be open from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

The Friends of The Green Free Library will be hosting Miss Mazie’s Garden Party for Ladies on Saturday, Aug. 4, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center.The event is sponsored by the Friends of The Green Free Library, to create awareness of the library’s history.

Party-goers will be greeted by Miss Mary B. "Mazie" Robinson, who once owned and lived in the present library building. Lemonade and light refreshments will be served while harp music will be provided by Celia Finestone. Suggested attire is garden party dress (hat and gloves optional).

SILENT AUCTION CONTINUES

The Green Free Library in Wellsboro, PA, will be holding a Silent Auction at the library at 134 Main Street. Bidding has begun and will conclude at 4:59 PM on Saturday August 04, 2012. Winning bidders will be contacted on the following Monday. Payment in cash, or a check made out to The Green Free Library will be accepted. All books to be auctioned are on display in the front entrance of the library, and descriptions and photos are available in the “bid book”.

Joseph M. Parry, 69, of Wellsboro, died on Thursday, July 19, 2012.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro. Published in The Wellsboro Gazette from July 20 to July 30, 2012
