IF YOU TAKE A LAMB TO THE LIBRARY

you make
a lot
of
kids happy!

The story hour participants had a special surprise visitor at The Green Free Library on Wednesday, April 7, 2010.

A week old lamb and her owners (Keith & Hilma Cooper of Wellsboro, PA) stopped in to say hello! Keith and Hilma own and operate Arvgarden Bed & Breakfast here in Wellsboro, where they also raise corriedale sheep. The lamb stole the hearts of many youngsters (of all ages as you can see by the pictures below).

FRIENDS PROGRAM

Join us on Thursday evening for information and inspiration. The Friends of the Green Free Library will be hosting a free program at the Gmeiner (behind the library). Louise Young, local author, will be talking about her experiences exploring South America and its indigenous cultures, especially the Kuna people and their fabric arts. Her novel, Seducing the Spirits, evolved out of her experiences. The program will begin at 7:00 PM and all ages are welcome.

You do not need to know how to knit to join this club, instruction and help from Wanda Short, and other club member's is part of the fun. Even if you do know how to knit, come on in and show us your stuff!

If you are looking for something to do after school to keep in out of the cold while you wait for your parents. Stop by and give knitting a try. HAPPY EASTER!

Spring

The director and staff of The Green Free Library would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter! The library is closed today, but its closed every Sunday! We will be open as normal tomorrow though, so don't forget to return your books and DVDs.

It is a beautiful day in Pennsylvania!! Signs of Spring are everywhere(except in any pictures-since no one is sending any). Get outside and smell the warming earth (and the fresh manure spread on the field next door). See the leaves and shoots bursting forth and the birds building their nests. Try not to eat too much, and have a great day.

NEW TITLES ADDED

The Green Free Library has added several new titles to its collection. If you see a title you might like to read, come on in and check it out! If you have any titles that you would like to suggest, send a message via the online "Suggest a Purchase Button", on the My Millennium page of our website, or E-mail the Director at greenlib@epix.net. While we consider all titles, the library has a very tight budget (especially this year) and we don't usually go back and purchase titles that are more than 2 or three years old. We do, however, accept donations for addition to our shelves.
