The Green Free Library will be closed today, due to inclement weather.




Since the Wellsboro Area Schools are closed today due to bad weather, The Green Free Library will attempt to open at 12:00 PM-WEATHER PERMITTING! Please check back, or listen to the local radio stations for weather related updates. You can also call the library at 570-724-4876 and listen to a recorded message, or talk to a staff member if the library is open. Thank you.

Reminder-fines are always waived during weather related closings.

The BOOK STORE will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Prices are amazing and there are many titles to choose from. Books will be re-stocked at the end of every session, so make it a habit to stop in regularly.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 30, 2013

Story Time will be held in the childrens' room at the library beginning at 10:15 AM. The session lasts about 45 minutes and includes stories, songs and fun activities. Story Time is free and open to all children from birth to age 5 alongwith at least one adult caregiver. This week the theme will be Music!

The adult Knitting Group will meet at 3:30 PM in The Gmeiner (the art center behind the library). Knitters of any level are encouraged to attend. Help will be available for those new to the craft.

ANNOUNCING THE SPRING STORY TIMES

The spring 2013 Story Time lineup has been set at The Green Free Library! Regular sessions are Wednesdays at 10:15 AM in the childrens' room at the library. Join us for stories, songs and fun activities! All programs are free and open to any children from birth to age 5 along with at least one adult caregiver.

DELAYED OPENING

In accordance with the library's snow policy since the Wellsboro Area School district is operating on a 2 hour delay, The Green Free Library will open at 11:00 AM today. There will be no Story Time this week.

PROBLEMS WITH EVERGREEN SYSTEM.

Once again we (and all member libraries) are experiencing a problem with the Evergreen Circulation system. Many patrons are coming up as expired even though they have items currently checked out. For some reason the system will not let those patrons renew their items causing overdues and fines. Please contact the library if you are experiencing this problems. Unfortunately this is a problem with the program and hopefully they will find a simple solution quickly. For some reason the providers are requesting yearly expiration dates to keep the system from having too many accounts that are not being used.

The Green Free Library is pleased to announce the new SUPER SATURDAY SALE in the onsite book tore. Saturday hours are from 12 PM-3 PM and if you BUY 1 ITEM AT REGULAR PRICE-YOU GET ANY ITEM OF EQUAL OR LESSER PRICE FOR FREE!!

The First Thursday Writing Group will meet upstairs in the library from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Writers of any genre who are at least 17 years old are welcome to attend. Feel free to bring a sample of your work (up to 3 pages) to share with the group in a round-table like discussion. Copies may be made before the meeting, and are paid for by the Friends of the Green Free Library.
